About McKenna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I bring a dynamic and commanding presence to the court. As a setter, I am a vocal leader, actively controlling the game's tempo and ensuring my teammates are always focused and "dialed in". I'm a high-energy player, constantly moving, diving and making game-saving plays. My game is defined by leadership, humility, and relentless grit, always striving to elevate my team's performance.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a highly driven individual who thrives on setting & achieving goals, both on & off the court. I believe in being a well-rounded individual, I immerse myself in various experiences. My personality is a blend of fun, outgoing, and free-spirited. I approach every challenge with enthusiasm & a good laugh. I'm a thoughtful player who chases personal growth, always pushing myself to reach higher.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

8th grade student body President, 9th grade class President, promoted to Flight Commander in the AFJROTC program, Scholar Athlete Award, Lions Club Community Service Award (145 hours), Academic Block letter, Varsity Volleyball Block letter as a freshman, Christian Club, Blood Drive Committee lead, California 911 Hero Award, Tracy Police Dept. 911 Award, American Heart Association lifesaving award

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed skills in leadership, teamwork, & communication. I was named captain for each of my club teams. My extracurriculars have provided opportunities to develop & apply my leadership qualities. I've gained public speaking experience, presenting to dignitaries, school boards, & community members. I coach a 9’s team, reinforcing my passion for the sport & commitment to developing others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've faced the challenge of being an underdog due to my size. This fuels my drive, makes me work twice as hard to prove my capabilities & earn my place on the court. I've been fortunate enough to shatter stereotypes placed on me. My work ethic, leadership skills, & athletic ability allowed me to overcome these perceptions & demonstrate my value to any team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm eager to continue my academic and athletic journey at a college that fosters personal growth and pushes the boundaries of my abilities. Ideally, I'm seeking a program where I can contribute my passion for volleyball while pursuing a degree in Sports Medicine. I'm confident I can thrive in an environment that prioritizes both academic rigor and competitive athletics.

It’s a tactical shift that reflects her desire to be a complete, dependable setter in every rotation.

Off the court, McKenna is just as driven. She’s earned captain roles each club season and balances her athletic workload with leadership in her school’s Air Force JROTC program, where she currently serves as a Flight Commander. Her teammates know her as outgoing, encouraging, and dependable, someone who brings energy, positivity, and accountability to every setting. She combines a goal-setter’s mindset with a strong sense of community, and her creative personality helps build connection wherever she goes.
