About Mckenzie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my game as fast and very thought out. I always find the best spot to put the ball and even though I'm a smaller middle I always find the best offensive strategy to get around the block. I find the weak players on the other side and aim for them. I have great precision and I play very smart. I approach hard and fast which gives me strength and great momentum to hit the ball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to never give up. No matter what challenges I am faced with I never give up and always trust the process. My first volleyball coach taught me to trust the process and I have lived by that ever since. It is always weird trying out something for the first time like a slide or new footwork but I just always have the mentality to trust the process. I am very competitive!!!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in Piano club at my school and I received the Brovo Award. I also in EMR club last year and I loved it. Every year I have got honor roll or principles honor roll for my grades.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

A major skill I have developed from playing is communication. I realized how importnant that was to have a successful team an I use to be very quiet on the volleyball court. Now I am loud on the court and it was a very good quailty to learn. I have developed my teamwork skill and leadership and even go tmor competitive. As I play at a high level each year with a faster pace I continue to grow.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I think a huge challenge I faced was playing my first year of club volleyball at a high level. I tried out for T-street 15's and I didnt think I would make a team since it was my first year. But I ended up making the ones team but I got told I wasnt going to play and I would be a practice player. I took that to my advantage and wanted to get as good as possible. After a month I was the starter.

What type of college are you looking for?

In college I am looking for a good volleyball team with postivie vibes. And I want the school to have good athletics all round and be competitive. I'm also hoping for a postivie learning environment and I want to meet new people and make new friends. I am hoping it is a Christian school and on the smaller side.
