About Mckinley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I move with purpose, make quick decisions, and stay aware of everything happening on the court. I’m aggressive when I need to be, but controlled and smart with every play. I communicate well, support my teammates, and always look for ways to make the team more successful. Whether I’m swinging, blocking, or transitioning, I stay locked in and bring confidence to every point.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a dedicated and competitive player who always gives my best effort on the court. I read the game well, stay focused under pressure, and bring strong energy that motivates my teammates. My hustle and commitment show every time I play, and I’m constantly working to improve my skills. I play with heart, confidence, and the determination to get better every single day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a leader and founder of FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes) at my school, Kohler. Along with that, I am a member of HOSA, pursuing behavioral health. I am also a 2 year member of Key Club which helps me gather community service hours. I have received “High Honor Roll” in my past year of highschool, and am working to obtain it every year going forwards.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a deep care and appreciation for every person, along with becoming a leader in academics, on the court, and in my community. When I was a mental health ambassador for MHA(Mental health of America), I was able to apply my skills of compassion and leadership in our school system to help support students and staff with their mental wellbeing.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge I believe I faced was dislocating my shoulder 3 times within 9 months. All of these dislocations happened in my 8th and 9th grade volleyball season(s) spread throughout club and school. I was then forced to get surgery to fix my torn labrum as a result of the dislocations. I wasn’t able to play 90% of my freshman school season and all of the 24-25 club season.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a not too small, but not too large mountain-town college. Academics are a big part of my life so I would appreciate my school to have a strong presence in the classroom and academic environment.
