I showed up in Dubuque this week looking forward to watching Melanie’s younger sister, Mallory Pfab Mallory Pfab 6'2" | RS Dubuque | 2030 IA , when their Dubuque Senior team played host to Iowa City High. While I was, once again, impressed with her sibling, Melanie flashed a lot of volleyball potential as well. She ranked second to Mallory in kills and led the team in blocks. Not bad for a kid that didn’t play volleyball last year. She has favored basketball and tennis during her athletic journey. Adding volleyball to her plate was good for the Rams and good for her. She utilizes the athleticism, fluidity and agility needed for success in her other sports to shine in volleyball. She jumps well and is strong. I’d expect her to keep improving with more reps.
