Melina may be one of the most difficult players in this group to define through a single position. She finished last season with 429 assists, 150 kills, 211 digs and 67 aces while contributing as a setter, outside hitter and opposite. She led Seckinger in assists and aces while ranking second in both kills and digs.

That versatility gives Seckinger options. Melina can organize the offense, remain an attacking threat and contribute defensively without the lineup becoming dependent on one narrow role. The next step will be using those different responsibilities to create rhythm rather than simply displaying range. Melina displayed strong body control when attacking and maintained balanced approach mechanics. She stayed available in transition and continued applying offensive pressure. Sophomore outside Melina Oliveira (#20) had good sparks of momentum. In set 2 she created some distance at the start of the set with four service aces. She was also effective as a back up setter with some impressive back sets to RS. During her attack play she had some smart shot selections that scored.
