About Mia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

When I play volleyball, I like to have a “just go” mentality. I forget everything but the game when I’m on the court. I play hard, but loose, and I will always hustle to make a play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m usually the loudest one on the court, because communication is key and I’m pretty damn good at communicating. I love to have fun with my teammates, and I’ve learned to always have a team-over-self mentality, especially on days when I’m feeling down or not playing my best.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m the president and founder of a 2-year old $7.8k+ Make-A-Wish Club, and I’m a member of the Massachusetts Rhode Island Make-a-Wish Youth Leadership Council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership is a quality that I have learned over time and because I’m naturally a huge extrovert and team player, I’ve learned to use my people-person skills to be an assertive but approachable leader. I am also huge on community service. I have over 30 hours this year (Dec 2025) and more to come.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The biggest challenge for me was changing my position. I was a 6-rotation outside hitter for most of my volleyball career (4 years!) I decided to be a Libero because I couldn’t compare height wise to the hitters in my age group and I wanted my defense to shine, not be overshadowed by my lack of height as a hitter. Lucky for me, my personality has always had some libero-ness to it.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m interested in high academic, small to midsize colleges, particularly those in California or New England. I would love to play at an Ivy or NESCAC program.
