About Amelia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a 6ft setter who also loves to swing. This year in my sophomore season, we finished second in 3A IHSA State Tournament. I also 452 assists and 455 kills, 64 aces and 191 digs. I am an athlete who loves to study the game and improve my contribution to my team's success. I feel physically strong and love to control a fast-paced, competitive match.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

From a very young age, I have experienced enormous pressure and expectations in a volleyball match. I have learned that mistakes are a part of the game and can be used to improve. I enjoy competition and thrive when the match is close. I take on a leadership role for any team I play on, no matter if I am playing with girls four years older than me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

LCHS- All Tournament Teams: 2023 & 2024 - Macomb, Lincoln, LCHS, Quincy MVP 2024 1st Team Mid Illini 2023 & 2024 , 1st Team All Area 2023 & 2024 , 2nd Team Champaign Gazette 23, 1st team '24, Team MVP 23 & 24 Club - All Tournament AAU Nationals 2024 Top 5 Sectional players , 2nd Team ICVB All-State, IlPrepVB- 1st team All-State, Jour Star Player of the year 2024

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I love to coach and give lessons to younger players, sharing with them the love I have for the game. I have played on many different teams and love meeting new players from all over the state and country. I also enjoy stepping into a leadership role on any new team I am on.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My club team I was at four years broke apart in the beginning of last season and sent me looking for a team after tryouts. I was placed onto a 18s team at 14 years old. I played with them for most the year and also filled in for 15, 16, and 17s in tournaments for that club. I had to learn to adapt to all different passers, hitters, systems and coaches. What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that is very competitive and always plays to win. I want to be pushed by coaches but also teammates to improve my game. I would love to be in an environment where my entire game improves. I also would love coaches who know about setting and care about me as a person and not just a player. I would love to find a program that feels like home away from home.

I am a big Lamberti fan. I have seen her play multiple times now and this girl has a wide array of skills. First, she is a fantastic setter. She runs a good tempo and knows how to spread out the offense and get out all of her attackers involved. She is also a powerful attacker, dynamite defender, and solid blocker. While I am always impressed with her skills, I am equally impressed with her leadership, composure, and high game IQ. Combine these items with her height and speed and you have a tremendous athlete that is going to be a steal for some college this upcoming summer.
