About Milan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As I am still not in high school yet, I would describe myself as very motivated and to never stop until I reach my goal. I push my self consistently so I can reach my best potential. I would love to play college volleyball because I think if I get the correct training and guidance, I have the potential because of my grit.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality on the court can be described as bubbly and focused. Though those are two different things, I will do both throughout the game. I will motivate my team even when we’re down and I will celebrate with pure joy with my team. Keeping my head in the game is the most crucial part. My mentality is if I make a mistake in a play, I hope that I get the opportunity to correct it next play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, at this moment, I am affiliated with Chicago Elite Volleyball Club. I have been very focused on my studies as well, so I have gotten A honor roll for many years.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed many skills from volleyball. I’ve developed more patience because when you work with a team, you tend to get frustrated with them during plays, but just know that you have to be accepting. Also, I’ve learned to take leadership in my team, especially in moments when my team needs me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have faced challenges throughout my volleyball journey. I’ve struggled with self doubt and with my club. My club seemed to have a great structure, but it all fell apart once I realized they had 9-11 teams per age group, not giving any attention to lower teams. Next season, I’m giving it another try as I train to be my best self in hopes to get more recognition.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that has a great volleyball program that’s competitive, but manageable so you can balance it out either your studies. I strive to be the best athlete I can be and if not being a D1 athlete isn’t in my path, I’m okay with that. I will try my hardest to be in the best division I can, but I will be happy just being able to play, thought college is still far ahead for me.
