About Minnie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I thrive in the pressure of the first touch, LOVE a solid out of system ball, and rely on my quick reaction time and agility to do my job well. While I certainly focus my time on doing my defensive job extremely well, I think the key to understanding and valuing all aspects of my teammates' positions improves individual performance as well as the team's as a whole.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have an extremely athletic twin brother which has served as a built-in competitor. Every touch, every point, & every moment on the sideline matters. Being quick to the jump & able to adapt to different scenarios is attributed to having a twin. There is also a balance of having AND being a cheerleader. The libero must exude positivity and forward momentum at all times.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Having a well-rounded approach to life on and off the court is extremely important to me. The following accolades are academia-based: 2025 Latin Award, National Beta Club, and Honor Roll (above 4.0 GPA honors). I am also involved in the following: PCA Senate, Varsity Football/Comp Cheerleader, FCA, Young Life.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been blessed to be a member of our national team 4 years in a row. That history has allowed me to build confidence in my court IQ and in validating my growth and sustainable development. My club director said "A lib isn't the slam dunk. She is the one that never misses a free throw." With that approach, I feel leadership and team-focused mentality has been achieved.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Though I am not the tallest, I have a growing confidence in my presence. I have worked on agility, speed, & coverage-based drills to fill in the gap. Another challenge I had was having to sit behind a senior in school ball in 2025. I focused on the positives such as gaining appreciation for other positions & leading our JV team to be Region Champions as the libero & making the Region Tourney Team.

What type of college are you looking for?

At 15, I feel like I am open to different states, settings, and environments. Academics are important; therefore, I am relying on them in tandem with my volleyball to direct me to where I need to land. Being at a school that values both is extremely important to me. I initially like the thought of being at a school where community is of high importance and involvement is optimal.
