Molly is a powerhouse libero who led Class 4 in digs last season, playing an instrumental role in helping the Guardians secure a state title. With an astounding 623 digs, she finished 145 digs ahead of the second-place finisher. Molly’s contributions were vital not just last year; she also made her mark in her freshman season, when St. Michael finished fourth. With a career total of 1,041 digs, she is on track to surpass the impressive milestone of 1,500 digs before the season concludes, solidifying her status as one of the top liberos in the state.

Bokenkroger is the third St. Michael player I’ve featured across these two articles, which brings me back to the question I posed earlier: Can the Guardians make another deep run in November? If the answer is yes, she’ll be one of the biggest reasons why.

I vividly remember saying before last season that Bokenkroger had some big shoes to fill in the back row. In so many ways, her play simply said, “Watch this.” She responded with a phenomenal season, piling up 623 digs during St. Michael’s state championship run.

Her impact goes far beyond the stat sheet. Bokenkroger’s passing and defensive consistency were the foundation that allowed Kinley and Jordan to combine for more than 700 kills last season. Great offenses start with great first contacts, and few players in Missouri do that job better than she does.

This is another libero from Northern Lights 17 Open that will need to be on the radar of college coaches when it comes to  Triple Crown in just over a week. Molly Bokenkrager is an uncommitted Class of 2027 libero who was able to show great range, athleticism, and clean first contact to get her PVA squad in system.  She preps at St.  Michael’s out of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. 

Molly has come a long way since her freshman year as a defensive sub. Now shining as the libero, she was a vital presence on the court, finishing with 23 digs in the 3-1 win that propelled her team to the state title match.

Molly Bokenkroger steps into the libero jersey with big shoes to fill, but she’s no stranger to the court. Having already logged two varsity seasons, Bokenkroger brings stability, experience, and confidence to the back row. Her quickness and ball control allow her team to run smoothly in transition, and her leadership is growing with every match.

A defender who continues to impress, Bokenkroger has the ability to pass half the court and play lights-out defense. She has been instrumental to the success of her PVA team during the club season.

Bokenkroger has a reputation already as a sound defender in the Kansas City area. She will probably take over the libero jersey for a talented St. Michael team next fall. Besides the ability to keep the floor clean, what impressed me the most was she was the first and maybe only defender I heard talk to her hitters during the attack regarding openings. She is a player who will be a college coach happy.
