Expert Analysis
Jesse Etter | Prep Dig Scout
We like Yoshino at just about any position; she was flying off the pin and out of the pipe to rack up kills for SIVBC during club. The Issaquah sophomore is a unique player; at 5’5″ she is a huge leaper with a big arm swing and aggressive attacking mentality. Yoshino was excellent playing middle back and off-ball defense, and is a setter with smooth hands when she has to step in and take the second ball. We expect another terrific season this fall for Yoshino, the #9 overall player in the 2028 rankings.

Yoshino is an excellent all-around player who is highly explosive for her size. She rips accurate swings out of the pipe for kills and is fearless when attacking a big block. Defensively, she maintained the same terrific play that she had concluded the school season with —diming balls in serve receive and getting to tips that seemed out of reach.

Yoshino has made her mark as the season nears the halfway point. Playing on the outside, the 2028 prospect has been taking essential swings for Issaquah as they battle in the tough Kingco Conference. At 5’4″ with excellent athleticism, Yoshino makes it work on the pin with a mix of shots, power, and vision. Her work in serve receive has been impressive; it’s not easy to play six rotations as a freshman, and Yoshino has been more than up to the task.
