About Myka

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

An active 4-H member since age 8, I participated in livestock and shooting sports, earning multiple state championship placings.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

After suffering a season ending injury in 2025 I found a new interest in coaching. To stay involved in volleyball I started coaching a 10U team at a local club. It has been a blessing to see the game from a coaches view and through little kid eyes again. Working with kids can be a challenge but I feel I gained a lot of new skills in teaching, leadership and how to create a team culture.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My challenge was a 7-month forced rest following shoulder surgery in October '25. Life without the sports I love taught me patience and resilience. I stayed connected by coaching youth volleyball and learned how to impact my club and school teams from the bench. Recently released to play again, the new challenge is the road back. The experience proved to me that I can overcome big obstacles.
