About Myla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is very leadership like. I’m always communicating, being energetic and loud on the court. Finding spots that are open for my hitters and making sure i’m where I need to be at all times.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m very passionate about the game, committed to being the best player I can be. I am also positive through struggles and a hard worker.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in a group called the Wisdom Exchange which is a volunteering opportunity to bridge the generational gap between teens and older adults. I also tutor a young girl after school. I do a lot of volunteering outside of school. I am also part of Student Council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Some skills and qualities I have developed is definitely leadership, throughout this year being a captain on my team I have learned a lot about how to be the best leader for each teammate. I also have learned perseverance through the many loses in volleyball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, my biggest challenge was my Eating Disorder in 2023. It brought my game level down and I wasn’t able to be the player I used to be. However, after a lot of struggling, I learned the importance of nutrition for an athlete and now have came back from it better then ever.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a good Kinesiology program, can give me some scholarship money and has a good volleyball program that challenges me to be the best version of myself.
