Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am very focused; I read the game on the court very well. I definitely have a high volleyball IQ. I am strategic about ball placement and causing the other the team to play out of system. I am consistent and steady, and it's helped minimize errors. I play an aggressive, fast-paced game with quick transitions and consistent pressure.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a competitive and driven mentality. I am so competitive, and I am always pushing myself to improve, even if it's "just the small things." I am very motivated and never satisfied with average. I have a lot of mental toughness; it has helped me maintain confidence and composure in high pressure situations. I have a very sarcastic personality, and I try not to "sweat the small stuff."
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am heading into my eighth-grade year, and I attend a very small private school. I unfortunately do not have a lot of options for extracurricular activities or clubs. I have always maintained excellence in academics, my grades in school have always been a priority. At the end of my seventh-grade year, I was awarded High Honor Roll for maintaining outstanding academic performance with a GPA of 3.8
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Volleyball has helped me grow in more ways than one. This sport has ignited a desire to lead by example through hard work and consistency. I have gained so much discipline through tough practices, intense training and balancing all of this with school responsibilities. Through this sport, it has allowed me to come out of my shell and comunicate effectively with my other teammates and coaches.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
With anything in life, there are highs and lows. I have struggled with self-confidence, not believing in myself and my capabilities. My father has always told me that believing in myself is half the battle. I know I will run into significant challenges throughout my career in volleyball and in life, but I know how I respond to the challenges makes a difference, defines how I move forward in life.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for an institution that can help me continue to grow and challenge me in the sport that I love so much. I'd love to go to a college that will encourage my growth in the classroom and on the court. I am open to going to anywhere there is an academic focus in science, as my current aspirations are to become a Dermatologist.
