Newark Catholic completed an unbeaten season (27-0) as Harrington (*pictured) had a complete match to wrap up her varsity career for the Green Wave. At 6’1, she has such great tools that will certainly transfer well to the next level when she joins a great DI program at Dayton. In the Green Wave’s convincing 3-0 win over St. Henry to claim the Division VI crown, Harrington delivered her second triple-double effort at the state tournament with team highs of 10 kills and 20 digs to go along with 12 assists. A 2nd team all-Ohio honoree, she was key to Newark Catholic’s win over then defending state champion New Bremen as the Green Wave took down the Cardinals in a five-set reverse sweep thriller. In that win, Harrington’s stat line included 17 assists and team highs of 15 kills and 12 digs as the Green Wave, ranked #3, took down the top-two ranked Ohio teams in DVI to land atop the podium.

Harrington displayed her versatility full throttle helping the Green Wave to the win. She dished out consistent dimes on her sets to the peaks of the hitters’ swings. She crushed the ball hard, especially on crosses and formed sound double blocks to make things difficult for the Cardinals. Harrington sent line drive serves across the net for big aces in the game. Harrington said interchanging roles with Gummer helps the team chemistry in addition to making the team more diverse.
