About Nicole

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I describe my gameplay style as aggressive, smart, and critical. I swing at all balls and is willing to risk myself to get the ball up and hit the ball down.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is tough, and is hard to break through. I learned to stay sharp and still play smart through tight matches and hard opponents. I help work with my team to help lead us to success.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have kept up my GPA through 7th-8th grade above 3.5, and have received an honor roll award throughout all the quarters in my 7th-8th grade time. I look forward to highschool, where I can start participating in Track and Field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I developed a huge trait of leadership and gaining trust from my coaches and teammates. Although I started as a shy, introverted girl in the start of my volleyball career, I learned what it takes to become a better person, being confident, and leading with confidence. Being an outside hitter helps you learn how much of a go-to hitter you will be on your team, so understanding that helped shape me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A big challenge I’ve faced was dealing with a tough coach. When my team was noticed to have great potential, we were brought towards a coach who was strict, and was hard on our mistakes and what we did. Since I was new to the sport and was used to the cool air and no stress, it was hard to move on to a coach who would pressure us to doing better. I struggled with my confidence and self-esteem.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges that accelerate in the English department, since I enjoy creative writing and reading. I hope to play in the D1 aspect of college volleyball and go pro, but I am still open to learn and listen about other colleges who see the success in me.
