About Nina

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a smart and supportive player who stays calm and focused, even under pressure. Always looking out for my teammates and making smart and thoughtful plays. I never give up and always try to give 100%, no matter what the score is.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Volleyball has been a big part of my life since sixth grade, helping me grow into a stronger, more disciplined, and determined person. My love for this game is unexplainable. It is more than a sport; it brings me joy through the friendships and support of my teammates. Volleyball has taught me life lessons that go far beyond the court. I’m excited to play in college growing as athlete and student!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

School Involvement: UHigh Black Student Union, Member UHigh Spanish Club, Member Leadership/ Community Involvement: Jack and Jill of America, Inc. - Vice President Bloomington Normal NAACP Youth Council - Secretary Volunteer Activities: Illinois Midwest Food Bank Strides Shelter: City of Champaign Humane Society of Central Illinois Toys for Tots of McLean County

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am committed to giving back to my community through service and advocacy. I am also passionate about addressing food insecurity, promoting animal rights, and fighting against animal abuse/testing.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m open to a variety of colleges, but I’m especially interested in schools that offer pre-law programs. I’ve also been looking into HBCUs and mid-size universities where I can get a supportive community and a good balance between academics and athletics.
