About Nyla

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of National Honor Society and 4H. I am involved in Peer to Peer working with low incidence special needs students and students with the inability to control their behavior. I also volunteer with our Varsity volleyball and soccer camp programs and at one our elementary schools in a mentorship program. I have received several awards over the years showing at the Cass County Fair.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can obtain my Pre-Vet degree while continuing to play volleyball. After that, my plan is to then apply to a Veterinarian medical school.

When watching Nyla at the Gauntlet, it was hard not to notice her; she was making one big play after another. Whether it was her laser serve, her ability to pick up tips around the block, or flying across the court to pancake a ball, she truly does it all. Hover plays like she deserves to touch the ball every point, and honestly, if I were on her team, I’d want her to, too!

Nyla played all six rotations for Dunes at the Madness in Miltown tournament, and while I was impressed with her all-around play, her serve receive really stood out to me. Nyla had a clean touch and consistent angles on the ball. She was confident and disciplined in serve receive. Nyla exploded onto my radar because she read the serve quickly and accurately nearly every time, putting up dime passes for her setters time and time again. On top of her stellar serve receive, Nyla contributed massively in every other aspect of the match as well.
