About Olivia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am focused and always give 100%, while also trying to maintain positive energy. I am competitive, but also realize that it’s not just about me; it is about making sure that the team wins. As a setter, I find much joy in getting an assist rather than getting the spotlight to show that we are working together as a team and can be better as a group.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a mix of being hardworking, fun, and loyal. I take my goals seriously and always put in the extra effort to grow, whether it is in school, sports, or just in life in general. I love to laugh, have fun, and make the most of every moment. My mentality is all about staying positive, pushing through challenges, using my mistakes as a time to learn, and being there for the people I care about.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At school, I was a member of the H.E.R Space Club, which is a club that focuses on female students and helps to provide a welcoming and supportive place for female students to discuss any challenging issues and to get to know each other.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through sports, where I have overcome my shyness in communication. I have also given back by volunteering with young kids at a daycare, helping them to explore the fun of reading and science. Through these experiences, I have developed the ability to be patient and connect with others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my academic challenges is Math. I have learned to overcome my fears and doubts, and have found comfort and support in working with my classmates and teachers to approach math in a different way. I have learned to be more relaxed and have begun to trust my knowledge, which has resulted in improved performance in class and a deeper understanding of the subject.

What type of college are you looking for?

My goal is to attend a college that is competitive academically and athletically, where I can push myself to grow. I want a diverse campus with a strong and supportive student community. I want to attend a college that offers a strong program in sports medicine and athletic training that will give me opportunities to learn and have real experiences.
