Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay style as being competitive in the sense of wanting to win but not being sour about losing. I give good sportsmanship to the players on my team but also to the players on the other side of the net. I get excited when I make a point or my teammate makes a point, and when I step out onto that court for whatever game, and I give that game my all.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality for playing volleyball or any activity I do is to play the best I can and if I’m not having the best day I will find ways to help my teammate out in anyway possible that I can. I think volleyball is meant to be fun and competitive, so combining my love for volleyball and my competitive personality works out and helps me win games with my amazing teams.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I was in Girl Scouts for 9 years and earned hundreds of awards from camp fire building to leadership skills. I also won my bronze and silver awards through Girl Scouts. I won an award for most innovative project at the regional level for Future Cities. I also won an award in my freshman woodworking class for best put together project with the best creativity.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve learned to be a great leader and have great confidence in what I do because of Girl Scouts and because of volleyball. Both are teams that I’ve had to cooperate with and come up with ways to win games and patches. I have done countless of hours of community service through my church and through me and my family teaching hunter safety for the DNR.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
One challenge I face on the volleyball court and off the volleyball court is my heart condition called Marfans. Marfans hinders me from doing anything extremely vigorous, like playing basketball or running track. But I still wanted to be a healthy kid with good ambition so I got into volleyball. I got picked on heavily as a kid for having this heart condition which helped me find love for this act
What type of college are you looking for?
One that has my job profession and one that allows me to play volleyball and still go to school.
