Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’d say I play really scrappy. I never give up on a ball, no matter how hard it looks. I’ll dive, hustle, and do whatever it takes to keep the play going. I react fast, read the game well, and always stay focused. Even if I make a mistake, I shake it off and keep playing hard.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I try to stay positive and not let mistakes get to me. I don’t dwell on things. I correct and move on. I always support my teammates and bring good energy to the team. I don’t like drama or negativity, so I focus on keeping on helping the team and staying positive. I like having fun, but I know at tournaments when to lock in and get serious.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Yeah! I’m part of Link Crew at Rufus King that helps student get oriented and connected to others. It’s a leadership program where upperclassmen help freshmen adjust to high school. We welcome them through an orientation program that we develop where they attend over several days to get to know the school and each other. We each mentor a group of students through their first year.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve become better at communicating and more confident with my play. I’ve learned that my team plays better when I'm loud and call things early. I also feel like I’ve become more of a leader by talking more of the court to help my teammates and keeping the energy up.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My 16s year was my second year playing club, and my first year playing on a national team. Adjusting to club play and the club community was a struggle, especially not knowing all the techniques that so many girls have spent years learning.
What type of college are you looking for?
I want a school that challenges me but also supports me. For volleyball, I’m looking for a competitive and positive team environment where I can keep getting better and enjoy my time on the court. A good team culture is really important to me. I go to an IB high school, which prepares me for college, and I can advanced placement at college. I’m still deciding my major.
