Christian County head coach Zach Hardison described Owens as the best libero in the region hands down. He added she’s a team captain and leads the back row with elite movement and energy. Owens does a good job quickly lining her arms up to balls to make smooth first touches on defense and serve receive. Owens makes the simple passes and lunges after balls under control. Owens also provides great net backup.

Owens played more of a defensive role for the Colonels this past fall, but could move into the main setter role this fall with the main one graduating in the spring. Owens is consistent in the back court making sound two to three-point passes to get Christian County into a good offensive rhythm. Owens also paints back lines on her sound jump serves. Owens had 281 digs, 100 assists and 64 aces to help Christian County win the 8th District championship and drive to the 2nd Region semifinals.

Owens is a vocal leader who covers the court extensively. Able to make an impact from various parts of the court, Owens can deliver both offensively and defensively. Accurate with her sets, Owens anticipates the flow of play, using her quickness to move around the court. Owens, a setter/defensive specialist, makes quick decisions on the court routinely.
