About Piper

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very drivin setter, with excellent picky and well placed serves. I strive to give my hitters the exact set they need based on the play and how they like to hit. I can be sneaky with dumps and who I intend to set, as well as playing great defense and being loud on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I strive with confidence and leadership on and off the court, and live to be a funny, compassionate and leading individual. I love music, food, and my friends. I am able to lift others up with cheer when they are down, and provide a safe space when needed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in numerous musical bands (Marching Band, Concert Band, Percussion Studio), as well as being a referee for CDAA Volleyball. Within my music career, I have been givin silly titles like the Candy Crusher (my love for the game Candy Crush) and Mother Duck (taking in new musicians as one of my own). I have also been a section leader for two years now, and strive to do more.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have gained lots of teamwork, trust and leadership skills through volleyball and music. Wether it be guiding my teammates on the court, helping my bands with fundraising, or helping my section in Marching Band, I always want to be there as someone to trust and look up to.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had numerous injuries in the past couple of years that have been both major and minor setbacks. (Knee, back, ankle, elbow, head) I have also dealt with mentalities telling me I should quit, give up everything I love. Through the past couple of months however, I have persevered and overcome my hardships.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college great with both Volleyball and Music programs. I would also prefer a warm-ish location (Minnesota is freezing!). A college with kind, understanding and Christian-drivin would be a perfect fit for me.
