Hamilton (*pictured) had a fantastic high school season as she led Triway’s offense as a freshman. The Titans finished 18-7 overall as she terminated at a high rate for 3.5 k/s and .254 efficiency, which is very respectable for a primary pin seeing a lot of opportunities to swing. At 5’10, she gets her feet to the ball well with good momentum build and lift that allows her to maximize her jump and touch point. With good vision and range, she can drive the ball aggressively. She is a very promising six-rotation prospect with good instincts and fundamentals in the first-touch phase.

Pyper seems like the kid that fits any role needed. Need an outside that can put balls away? Pyper. How about a block with those long arms? Pyper, times two. Maybe a character kid that picks up her teammates when things aren’t going well? Pyper again, and she didn’t have to. Throughout Saturday, her name came up with multiple coaches as a player to keep an eye on for doing everything well, including the “good teammate” part that isn’t found on a stat sheet. I can’t imagine a college coach NOT needing those things on their squad, and she doesn’t graduate for another couple of years. I look forward to her progress, and hope to see more of her at major qualifiers this spring.

The 5’10 freshman led Triway to a big 3-2 win that was a back and forth contest ending with a 15-13 final set victory for the Titans. She set a career high of 18 kills in the win over Hillsdale. In Triway’s 3-0 win over West Holmes she added an additional seven kills to finish the weekend with a 3.1 k/s average on a 47% kill rate and .245 efficiency. Hamilton can score from both sides of the court with equal range and power. Expect her to put up big numbers all season.

The 5’10 left side hitter is developing into a complete player with ability to contribute in a variety of areas while also showing good I.Q. in some of her decisions offensively. She gets good lift and will improve that by driving both arms up together, which also will increase her balance that will make her more effective and efficient overall. NOVA has a good one in Hamilton as she has great upside.
