Please officially welcome Rachel to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 77^th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Liberty Ranch High School and also the Omni club program. Miss Smith has tons of size and some great technique to back it up at the net. This young lady is a load to deal with if you are an opposing defender. Not only does she contact the ball at a very high point above the net, but she has some immense power on her down swing that adds a lot of pace into the ball after it rebounds off of her hand. The best aspect of her play is that she can be a lethal middle scorer and a shut down blocker on the right side. When she swings out of the middle, she does such a fantastic job of cutting the ball around the opposing block and sending the ball to the corners so she doesn’t get blocked. Rachel is having a great season offensively as her setter keeps feeding her the ball for a good reason. There was no question when it came to adding her to the official list. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
