Craven has long been the centerpiece of so many Banzai VBC triumphs. We gave this Ashland-Greenwood setter a few shoutouts during the 2023 season as her team clinched a GJNC bid through the Great Plains Region. This year, Craven and 17 Select decided to take care of “bid-ness” outside of the region. A runner-up finish at the Windy City Qualifier has put Craven back in the spotlight, and 17 Select followed that up with a strong showing at the Great Plains Regional Championships. Vegas is next on the agenda.

Why not make it a Banzai VBC trio? Craven is Fast’s teammate at 17 Select, giving the team a true dual threat at the setter spot. We repeatedly praised Craven’s work with 16 Select last year as she piloted one of Banzai VBC’s best offenses in recent memory. Craven has also been a foundation of Ashland-Greenwood’s success with multiple seasons as the starter. We can’t wait to see what this standout 2025 accomplishes with her stacked club squad.

We’re still marveling at how impactful Craven was as Banzai 16 Select’s setter. She has seized full control of that position as a 5-1 operator who can find the hot hitter at any time. Craven has already demonstrated ability to compile impressive stats with Ashland-Greenwood on the high school side, but this 2023 campaign with Banzai was on another level. GJNC was a perfect way to cap off Craven’s ascent with her club squad.

We’re getting some nice club variety in this feature as Craven joins the fray from Banzai. This is another athlete we can look forward to seeing at Nationals, too. 16 Select put together some clutch wins at last month’s Great Plains Bid Tournament, and Craven had a lot to do with that season-ending hot streak.
