About Rebecca

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel that I play with a level of intensity to can feed an entire team. My father says I am like a flying squirrel on the court, and can zip from the 6 to the 5 and then to the 1 with ease. I am not afraid to run into the bleachers to dig a ball. My serve is my moment of clarity, when I feel it is 6 vs 1 in the moment, and can set the tone for the next play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to talk to people and engange in deep conversations. I don't just simply ask "How are you?", I will ask you more specifically "How was your morning" or "How was your drive to school/work?" One thing I have learned from my fathers military lifestyle, is to learn and understand the hard truth, and be receptive to constructive criticism.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play the flute and piccolo in our high school band and was able to achieve my letter my freshman year. I was the first female Boy Scout in our community, and lead our schools military appreciation ceremony's every year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have switched positions during high school varsity from defense specialist, to an outside hitter from my sophmore year to my junior year. My first two seasons of club ball I have played as either a libero or a defense specialist. Having this flexibility has been able to help me during the club season recognize and anticipate where a OH or Opp may try to pin their hits.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I have faced so far is in school volleyball. I play at a 3A school for volleyball with no conference or district. With the small school environment within southwest Oklahoma, trying to get recognition is difficult.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to find a college that has a reputable nursing program with a concentration on either hospice care, or in home care.
