Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
Bridgeland’s second outside hitter, Pfefferkorn might not have been as consistent as Rachal, having a few tough runs during the match, but her overall production shows how important she was for them. The senior led the team with 20 kills and was extremely efficient when she fully stretched her arm to make contact with the ball at a very high point and hit angles. Pfefferkorn also registered two aces and one block in her 23-point performance. She also produced well on the backcourt, with 17 passes and ten digs.

Originally a middle, Pfefferkorn has been playing as an outside hitter this season and was the team’s main offensive weapon, registering 15 kills. Against Cypress Springs, she did a very good job of using her length to hit over the top of opposing blockers, but also displayed interesting shots, finding sharp angles and consistently beating the blockers. Pfefferkorn also showed good offensive versatility, hitting from the left, the right and even the middle, in some combination plays. She also impressed with her ball control and backcourt skills, registering five digs and appearing well in serve-receive when tested.

A middle with impressive length and superior mobility, Pfefferkorn is a factor at the net for Bridgeland. She’s very strong defensively, moving well at the net and getting several touches with her blocking, making things easier for defenders working behind her. Pfefferkorn is also a well-versed offensive player, who makes the most of her length and has a very quick right arm. She’s lethal hitting the slide set and has been expanding her offense, developing her ability to hit from the left and the right and opening new possibilities up for her team.

Pfefferkorn did a great job in the middle with Houston Skyline 17 Royal. Her length and the way she used it to dominate the net was game-changing and made of her a very important player in the team’s playing system. She was very strong offensively, making contact with the ball at a very high point, and used her long arms to get to the ball and score on tips when the sets weren’t so accurate. Pfefferkorn also produced well with her blocking, moving well at the net and taking up space from opposing hitters.

Pfefferkorn is another player who will need to step up and do more offensively for Bridgeland this season. As the team has some outstanding passers, she will be able to get set quite often and use her size and power to score points. Pfefferkorn has been consistently improving her game over the last few years and can now hit any set in the middle. She’s also an efficient blocker, who moves well at the net and uses her length to make stops. She’s up to a good start in her junior season, having registered 42 kills and 15 blocks so far.

Houston Skyline 16 Royal finally broke through to earn a bid at Windy City, and Pfefferkorn’s contributions to that effort cannot be ignored. Sure, you can talk about all the impressive swings she had in the frontcourt. But Pfefferkorn’s serving was an equally effective weapon, and that’s not usually a distinction given to middle blockers.

Pfefferkorn’s rise was possibly the best news of Bridgeland’s season as the sophomore is helping to fill one of the team’s biggest needs heading into 2022. Extremely long and mobile, she has a great presence at the net and uses her reading of the game and timing to be a solid blocker. The 6’1″ Pfefferkorn is very active on offense too and is typically very productive, using her reach and arm power to score in bunches.

The sophomore middle blocker had a tough battle with Ridge Point’s great middles but it’s fair to say she won far more than she lost during the match. Pfefferkorn used her length extremely well to make an impact at the net and led the team in blocks with four. She was also a force on offense, tallying eight kills and scoring consistently throughout the match, especially in big moments.
