For a combination of athleticism and some “setter flash”, look no further than Reese. Miss Blanchard goes 100% on every ball every time, with a finish that flourishes the more difficult the set might be. I’m also a fan of other parts of her game—the pinpoint serving, the read-and-react blocking ability, and the offensive side of her position all grade out to above average in this class. Overall, when looking at available setting options, you could do a LOT worse than Reese.

From one end of the flashy spectrum to the other, Reese has perfected the art of making the flashy set on every out-of-system pass. The crazy part is that the set itself is (1) always in tempo, and (2) located perfectly. Part of a winning program at Brebeuf, Miss Blanchard’s squad has had nominal team success so far this club season, but they hit a rough patch at Bluegrass two weekends ago. Nevertheless, Reese is the quarterback for this offense, and rest assured, continued to make the miracle plays when passing broke down.

Active in all phases of the game, Reese is the top setter for the top 17s team at Munciana. With her long arms, Reese blocks better than most her size at the setting position, and always finds a way to get a touch on the ball one way or another. Whether the pass is in-system or out-of-system, Miss Blanchard—once again—finds a way to make the ball hittable for her attackers. On floor defense, she’s one of the better defensive setters in this or any class, and—you guessed it—finds a way to make the contact after her dig playable. Reese is that kid that always finds a way to make things work. As the quarterback of one of the better open-level teams in the midwest, you can clearly see why.

A different type of setter that the three listed above, Reese is more flashy and aggressive than the others listed here today. Miss Blanchard will take a nothing pass and turn it into a “big girl set” by reversing the flow of the offense reguarly. This makes her hard to read as a defense, which then opens more opportunities to score for her hitters. She can also adjust her tempo of sets depending on what hitters need in certain rotations.
