Wamego’s football team has been making headlines in the state playoffs, but the Red Raider volleyball team also had a successful season. Langvardt led Wamego in kills with 301 during her final high school season. She recorded a total of 888 kills and 217 blocks for her prep career. She was named to the 2026 All-Deck squad. She is ranked No. 37 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026 rankings. She is still uncommitted, but her name has been bandied around on the recruiting airwaves.

I have not seen Wamego and Abilene compete since the summer of 2024, so this is a matchup I have had penciled on my calendar for some time. Langvardt is ranked No. 37 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. Based on her stats so far this season it appears she is playing six rotations for the Red Raiders. Through 16 sets played, she leads Wamego in kills and blocks. She has recorded 67 kills, 10 blocks, 34 digs, and 108 serve receptions. Much like the George Hamilton IV once sang, I am looking for to my trip to the “Prettiest Town I’ve Ever Seen… Abilene, My Abilene.”

Wamego is one of those teams I always mean to see play, but sometimes miss. I have seen the football play at least once in the past two seasons, but keep missing their volleyball squad. I usually catch them at the Abilene Tournament in the summer, but I was in St. Louis catching the Cubs and COVID during that tournament in June. The big-time hitter for the Red Raiders is on the short list of athletes I will attempt to see play this fall. Langvardt is ranked No. 23 overall and is still uncommitted.

Langvardt is ranked No. 23 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026, and I believe she is still uncommitted. She is a talented middle, and there are college coaches still looking for middles in the Class of ’26. She finished third in kills for the Red Raiders last season with 294 kills and was second on the team in blocks with 67.

Langvardt is a physical net monster and is ranked No. 23 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She finished among the state leaders in blocks last season with 67 in 81 sets played. She also collected 294 kills for the Red Raiders last fall. She has shown a steady improvement in her kill numbers from year-to-year. She can hit from the middle of the outside and can dump the ball into gaps in a defense.

Langvardt is an athlete I watched compete last summer in Abilene but unfortunately was unable to catch during the prep season. She is a physical and strong athlete who is dangerous at the net. She finished with 294 kills during her junior campaign and has 587 kills in three years for Wamego. Langvardt has posted 60-plus block seasons and is among the top ten-ranked middles in the Kansas Class of 2026.
