Athleticism was the first thing that stood out about Triplett. While she wasn’t the biggest player on the front line, she more than made up for it with her explosiveness and vertical leap. She took quality swings from the right side, attacking with confidence, and consistently got her hands on balls at the net. Her ability to elevate allowed her to compete effectively against bigger hitters and showed she has the tools to be a productive presence on both offense and defense.

Like Termini, Triplett’s first-contact aptitude could land her full-time roles in the contrasting jersey. She thrives while passing large segments of the court and will readily guide her fellow serve-receive partners. But Triplett also boasts some burst that makes her hard to keep out of the front row. Her quick snap on the ball drew our attention during Sunday’s event, and Triplett’s rock-steady platform secured her top-performer status.

Joining Free State’s Whitney in Salina for the Class 6A State Tournament is the Grizzlies’ Triplett. Wichita Northwest enters the tournament field with a record of 30-6 and will be seeded No. 3 in Pool B. Triplett is the only freshman on the senior-laden Grizzlies’ roster. In 23 sets of varsity action, she has collected 41 digs, 32 kills, and four blocks.
