About Samantha

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am aggressive, with a high desire to win. I also aim to be smart and identify the court to see where I have the highest ability to score. I am big on the net with my blocks.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

When I am on the court I am thinking about the next plays, who the weakest player on the court is, and having a quick side out. I am also someone who wants to encourage my teammates during the play rather than bringing you down I will tell you to keep swinging and you’ve got it.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of National Honor Society and HOSA. Before starting volleyball I was involved in TSA and musical theater.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I thrive to serve my community and as a member of Jack and Jill do community service for the homeless and have been apart of the Atlanta Food Bank as well as serving food to senior citizens during Thanksgiving. In the past summer I was apart of the TELP program at Grady Hospital.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I started volleyball later than others starting my ninth grade year, but in the past year I have shown vast improvement in my game and only aim to keep working hard. I worked hard in the gym to get to where I am now.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that is academically rigorous with good campus culture. One where you feel apart of a community rather than isolated.
