About Sami

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I always give high intensity, energy, and effort, while never giving up on a ball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I think that volleyball is 90% a mental sport, so I strive to stay as positive as possible, and am not afraid to psych out the other team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honors Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and I tutor kids in need.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I take pride in leading the back court and setting an example for both my teammates, but you get players too.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I lost my older brother to suicide and my father to alcoholism in a span of 2 years.

What type of college are you looking for?

An out-of-state, diverse, welcoming place.
