Sammie is gaining varsity experience at right side in a Cartersville lineup that has competed against some of the state’s strongest programs. Her postseason opportunity included contributing offensively against Jefferson, giving her valuable experience in a high-pressure environment. The right-side position requires more than being available to attack; it also demands disciplined blocking, transition awareness and the ability to recognize difficult matchups.

The next step is making those responsibilities more consistent. Refining her approach timing, improving her reads against opposing outside hitters and becoming more comfortable attacking against a formed block will help her grow into the position. Early varsity opportunities are especially valuable for a freshman learning to manage the pace and physical demands of the game. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
