About Sara

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I recently moved from middle to right side and have since led my club and high school teams in kills. I enjoy being a multi positional player, and this season, hit from all 3 front row positions as well as back row. My coaches describe me as an aggressive net player and strong hitter. I enjoy a fast set and quick attack, but am also working on tooling more and tip placement.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an intense hard working player and provide energy to my team on the court. I love celebrating with my teammates after big plays and being a leader on the court. I am always looking to improve my mental game, and work regularly with a mental coach so I am prepared for the big game moments.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel I have developed over the past year as a team leader (thanks to some effective mental coaching) and have been able to also apply that in my school. I have been a volunteer at my church for 3 years and enjoy working as part of a team there as well as my part time job at a coffee shop. Taking risks and stepping out of my comfort zone are qualities I continue to work on.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing a challenging course load with school and finding time for volleyball and all the extras (conditioning, lifting, privates) is a challenge I believe for all players.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open to any type of college at this point.
