About Sarah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am quick on the court who can play all 6 rotations. I am very supportive of my teammates and my team. You cannot have a great hit without a great set and you cannot have a good set without a perfect pass. Volleyball is a team sport. I play aggressive because that is how I train. I am not afraid to hit the floor or run down a ball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe that if you work hard you can achieve anything. I do not give up easily. I am from a small Division 4 school and during my club season I get to play with some of the top players from division 1 & 2 schools. I don't let my height disadvantage stop me. I have worked hard to become an elite volleyball athlete with a high ceiling.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society & Drama

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have served over a hundred hours of community service. I also assist during the summer at various volleyball team camps and lessons with the director and assistant director of my club. I enjoy helping others learn and improve their volleyball skills. This has made think about a future coaching career too.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am not the biggest hitter on the court but I have worked to get a big vertical. I am 5’7 with a 9’4 approach jump. I am currently working on reaching higher. I attend a small Division 4 school that doesn't have the advantages of the bigger schools. I work hard during the off season and I am close to reaching my 1000 career kill goal.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am currently committed to play volleyball at Defiance College in Ohio.
