Kempf (pictured) moved up 56 spots because she did an outstanding job running Sacred Heart’s fast-paced offense. The Valkyries were loaded with hitters and Kempf did a great job finding their strengths and putting them in position to put balls down. Kempf could also make big digs when needed. She finished her senior season with 941 assists and 193 digs, helping the Valkyries go 33-6 overall, win two in-season tournaments, another 27th District title and make it to the 7th Region semifinals.

Within the week of Sept 9-15, Sarah Kempf was honored for two separate milestone accomplishments. First, she was recognized in her home gym at Sacred Heart Academy for racking up 1,000 Varsity career assists in a top program in the state of KY. The second came after her team won the LIVT, hosted at Kiva in Louisville, KY, for the first time since 2016. Sarah was named the MVP of this highly respected tournament after playing teams from all over the country. Sacred Heart is currently ranked third in KY and 41st nationally. She is a true senior leader and competitor.

Kempf is consistently on target with her passes for the Valkyries. She is a solid all-around player. Kempf does a variety of sets including the cross-court ones that test the opposing team’s slide blocking abilities. She finds good matchups for her teammates to take advantage of.

Kempf is very smooth and precise as a setter. She can place the ball wherever needed including the back set, short sets and cross-court ones. Kempf also has sound line drive serves and is a solid passer. Kempf had 624 assists, 250 digs and 52 aces helping Sacred Heart to a 28-11 record last year with a 27th District championship and 7th Region runner-up finish.
