About Shaeya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a libero, my gameplay style is very defense-focused and consistent. I take pride in my serve receive and digging, working to keep the ball off the floor and give my team a good pass to run our offense. I rely on my quick reactions, court awareness, and communication to help organize the back row and keep rallies going. I focus on being reliable, aggressive on defense, and always ready.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a player, I bring a competitive and determined mindset. I stay locked in, communicate with my teammates, and push myself to give 100% effort every rally. I take pride in being consistent, resilient, and someone my team can depend on in tough moments. I focus on doing the little things well, lifting up my teammates, and bringing hustle and positivity to the court every time I play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am involved in jiujitsu and currently train at Lvl 5. I am also homeschooled, where I work hard to maintain good grades and stay disciplined with my studies. Outside of school and sports, I enjoy photography and have a strong interest in architecture and interior design, which are creative areas I like to explore.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong teamwork and communication skills through volleyball. As a libero, I’ve learned how to stay vocal, support my teammates, and help keep our defense organized. The sport has also helped me build leadership, discipline, and a strong work ethic while working toward a common goal.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have faced challenges, especially learning how to balance school, sports, and personal responsibilities. Through those experiences, I’ve learned how to manage my time, stay disciplined, and push through difficult moments while continuing to stay committed to my goals.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that has a friendly community, good academics, and opportunities to play sports. I want to be somewhere that will help me grow as a student and as a person, while also being part of a team and meeting new people.
