Expert Analysis
Jesse Etter | Prep Dig Scout
Hanson’s terrific length, excellent press and work ethic land her at #47 overall in the rankings. She was a difficult match-up for opposing attackers all season and helped Puyallup to another solid season. Hanson still has room to develop; she has a high ceiling, and her best days on the volleyball court appear to be ahead of her.

Hanson has a 6’3″ wingspan, and her offensive game is flourishing for Reality Sports 17U this club season. The junior is running routes with authority, and her transitions are fast and fundamentally sound. Hanson has a high contact point and that leverage is leading to terminal swings attacking in front of and behind her setter.

The 6’3″ Hanson is attacking with volume and efficiency for the Vikings. She is working in front of and behind the setter in Puyallup’s 5-1 offense and is finding open spots to pound down kills. Defensively, Hanson touches swings consistently, even when she is not fully blicking a swing. This creates excellent opportunities for the team to score in transition.

Hanson is all of 6’2″, and the rangy middle from Puyallup continues to develop solid footwork and increased power. She takes the #52 spot in the rankings update, and should only keep getting better playing for a Puyallup program that has turned out excellent middles year after year. Hanson started showing the high swing and strong hand contact that will allow her to score above and around the block consistently.

The Vikings took home the 5th place trophy, knocking off Camas in the trophy match for 5/6 and Hanson battled hard against a tall and skilled Papermaker front line. She has length at 6’2 to be a difference maker as a blocker, and she recorded over 60 total blocks on the season. The 2026 prospect has time to develop strength and a complete offensive package, her work rate and effort to close the block are solidly in place. Setter

are two more underclassmen who played well at the tournament and all season for Puyallup. Sheppard will have a chance to approach the 4000 assist mark next year as a senior, and the Vikings have found a gem in libero Pirillis.

The development of the 6’2 Puyallup middle has been impressive, Hanson is running quick sets and terminating points with an aggressive approach. Her footwork is allowing her to time up the sets from her Reality Sports team, Hanson is staying behind the ball and attacking with pace. When RSVBC is in system and sets her a high ball, her high attack point becomes difficult to stop. Hanson looks more athletic each time we have seen her play throughout the club season, her ability to close the block and press causes problems for hitters.
