While we’re talking about prolific scorers, we can’t leave out one of Nebraska’s most dominant terminators in the class. Crist scored at will for Crete High School in 2023 as she climbed to the top of the state’s overall kills leaderboard. A similar storyline has played out with Nebraska ONE 17 Black. Crist is a transformative new addition to the lineup and helped 17 Black secure a GJNC bid through the Windy City Qualifier. She posted another strong outing at Show Me and will keep gathering momentum before Vegas beckons.

Crist is fitting right in with Nebraska ONE 17 Black. Her high-level experience in 2023 has prepared Crist to take on a leading role with this squad, and she’s already delivering in early-season action. She’s a true six-rotation attacking threat who has made big gains on her pipe attack. Crist’s frontcourt range is also evolving, and 17 Black will be sure to use that range during the upcoming qualifier gauntlet.

Crist racked up some of the biggest numbers among players who didn’t end up in Lincoln this November. The Crete outside hitter amassed an astonishing 5.1 kills per set in 2023 and was similarly effective in handling first contacts. The Cardinals were right on the doorstep of breaking into the Class B tournament, so there’s unfinished business in 2024. Crist will lead the way.

Crist is one of several showcase participants who just got done performing on one of club volleyball’s biggest stages: USAV Nationals. Her Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy team forged an incredible third-place finish in the 16 Open division, and we will long remember Crist’s multi-faceted role throughout the 2023 season. She has excelled as a pin hitter, middle blocker, defensive specialist, and almost everything else in between. Crist primarily competed on the pin in La Vista and showed us all the high-flying termination we’ve come to know from the Crete native.

Crist stepped into the Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy lineup this year and has promptly played just about every position under the sun. Few players in the 2025 class boast that kind of repertoire. There has to be a lot of pressure that comes with being a do-it-all player for such a successful Open team, but you wouldn’t know it by the way Crist has handled the task.
