About Skylar

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is dynamic and team-oriented. I thrive on being adaptable, whether it’s delivering consistent passes, executing strong serves, or stepping into a leadership role when the team needs focus. I bring energy and intensity to every point, always looking for opportunities to outsmart the opponent with strategic plays. Communication and support are at the core of my approach.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a team-oriented player with a competitive mindset. I thrive on communication, supporting my teammates, and staying focused under pressure. I approach every game with determination, resilience, and a strong desire to continuously improve, both individually and as part of the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in Student Council, NHS, VFW with Veterans, and the Buddy Up program.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through volleyball, I’ve developed strong teamwork and communication skills, as the sport demands constant collaboration and trust among teammates. I’ve also grown as a leader, taking initiative to motivate and guide others on and off the court. Additionally, volleyball has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of supporting my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I lost my dad to a heart attack in 2022, which brought both mental and physical challenges. Despite the difficulties, I worked hard to find strength and resilience as I coped with the loss.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that offers a strong kinesiology program, as it’s my intended major. I value a supportive and organized environment with a good student-teacher ratio to ensure personalized learning and academic success.
