About Sloane

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Sloane DeFreitas is a 5'5" Outside Hitter in the Class of 2032 based in Newport Beach, California. She is a starting six-rotation player for Tstreet Volleyball Club and also competes in beach volleyball with MBsand Volleyball Club, where she continues to develop her all-around game. Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Sloane plays with a confident, focused mindset and believes that “the opponent within your own head is more formidable than the one on the other side of the net” (The Inner Game of Tennis). Following the Tstreet "Breath, Believe, Battle" mindset from Troy Tanner, she focuses on staying present, trusting the work and competing through every point.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Sloane is an active member of National Charity League, where she participates in community service supporting a variety of local causes. Her work includes contributing to organizations focused on children, education, and healthcare, including the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Sloane has developed strong teamwork and communication skills through both indoor and beach volleyball, learning how to support her teammates, stay positive, and compete together through every point. She leads by example with her consistency, effort, and attitude, always putting the team first.
