Sofia brings flexibility to the front row because she can contribute at both right side and middle. She has been a productive attacker for Union County and has also contributed significantly to the team’s blocking work. That combination gives her responsibilities that can change depending on the matchup and the rotation.

Her value comes from the ability to move between those jobs without losing her understanding of the play. At right side, she must be prepared to close the block against an outside hitter and attack when the offense shifts away from the left. At middle, the timing and transition demands are different. Sofia’s experience in both positions gives Union County lineup flexibility and gives her a broader foundation as a front-row player. The postseason has provided another set of high-pressure repetitions as she closes out her senior season. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga

Her presence at the net gives SVC another option offensively while also helping disrupt opposing attacks. As the competition level increases in Orlando, players who can influence both sides of the ball become increasingly valuable.
