About Sophia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I bring focused energy and lots of positivity when I play. I Believe in strong communication on the court, to better execute plays. Take a look at the videos on my Instagram page to see my enthusiasm.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Extremely resilient and always ready to attack the next play. I believe in teamwork and team cooperation. I enjoy volleyball and I’m always happy To be supporting the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have personally organized several camps for junior high volleyball players. These campers do not have very many opportunities and this helps them develop and I get to share my love of the game.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was co-captain on my national travel club team last season. This allowed me to encourage and lead players. I have also volunteered at the local food bank with my high school varsity team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I moved schools in eighth grade and had to start school and volleyball right away. At first it was challenging, but I made friends that have been with me in high school.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to attend a school that has a supportive coach and team. I am a very positive and resilient person who is fun to be around, and I like that in others. I am willing to travel out of Texas for school.
