About Sophie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I describe my gameplay as tenacious and aggressive in my approach to playing for I feel that I will do whatever I have to do to keep the ball in play even if I have to sacrifice my body and I train the same way in addition to practice.My gameplay style can also be to prepare in advance before games by watching the other teams practicing and watching their strengths and weaknesses.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my personality as supportive bc I’ve always hated the thought of a player on my team thinking that the team is mad at her if she were to mess up so I always like to make sure they know that it’s ok and that I know that they are trying their best so their confidence stays.For mentality I’d say being able to get back up after a rough play and trying not to let it affect me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes I am involved in a club called thrive it is a hybrid team so even thought I’m 15 I’m playing in a 16s division which I enjoy since it prepares me more.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think I have developed leadership skills by being positive even though we might be down pointe I always like to remind my team to stay focus and not let it affect them and if they mess to shake it off and get the next one.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A year ago in the middle of the school year I was relocated to a new school where I knew nobody so it was a challenge for me academically for I had to learn new things that i was never taught and athletically because the school did not carry a volleyball ball program so that year I only did club.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking to go to a University like alabama
