About Sophie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have a strong work ethic and a high IQ for the game. I give maximum effort at practices, games and additional training throughout the year. I always have a positive attitude and I spend time with my coaches to deeply understand the finer points of the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a strong work ethic and a high IQ for the game. I just completed my third year of club volleyball at the elite level and have just been named as a starter on the varsity high school volleyball team as a sophomore. I am a true leader on the court as my teammates look up to me during both practices and games. I lead by example and maintain a positive attitude while also encouraging my team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently involved with Student Council & the Legacy Club at my high school

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

By being a multi sport athlete growing up, mostly in team sports, I have developed the ability to lead a team and hold myself to high standards by setting the tone of a team. The way that I play is simply stated as "going all out, at all times." By giving maximum effort in both practices & games, my team looks up to me and we play at a higher level as a result of that.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Because I am a multi sport athlete, take all honors classes at school & am involved in additional organizations to give back to the community, I am constantly challenged with balancing my workload while also having time with friends and family. Each day I am challenged with making the most of the day but also prioritizing my tasks. I am fortunate to have a loving family that supports me.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that deeply challenges me in the classroom so I can pursue my longer term goals for life after college.
