I’ve enjoyed watching Zmolek’s game develop during the last few seasons. The South Tama County sophomore has provided an advantage for her teams against most opponents on the right-side of the net. Her height and long arms are complemented by explosiveness off of the court and excellent leaping ability. The talents allow for ending points with authority or sending the attack back to opponents via the block. Zmolek changes a lot of swings even when she doesn’t get her hands on the ball. The CIA standout gets on top of the ball when on the attack and generates power. Zmolek has worked hard at becoming a six-rotation opposite pin, holding up well in serve-receive and defending in the back row. She also shows potential swinging from the outside pin. Zmolek ranked second among Trojans with 177 kills (.349) last fall. She also contributed 34.0 blocks.
