I’ve enjoyed watching Zmolek’s game develop during the last few seasons. The South Tama County sophomore has provided an advantage for her teams against most opponents on the right-side of the net. Her height and long arms are complemented by explosiveness off of the court and excellent leaping ability. The talents allow for ending points with authority or sending the attack back to opponents via the block. Zmolek changes a lot of swings even when she doesn’t get her hands on the ball. The CIA standout gets on top of the ball when on the attack and generates power. Zmolek has worked hard at becoming a six-rotation opposite pin, holding up well in serve-receive and defending in the back row. She also shows potential swinging from the outside pin. Zmolek ranked second among Trojans with 177 kills (.349) last fall. She also contributed 34.0 blocks.

It’s about time we brought a few more terminal opposites into the equation. Zmolek did plenty to demonstrate her scoring ability when she represented South Tama County in 2025. She soared up the efficiency charts with a 0.349 hitting clip and had the second-best kill total on her veteran-laden squad. Zmolek’s efforts were just as notable on the Prep Dig Circuit, as she elevated over opposing blockers at Sunday’s scrimmages. Club Iowa Juniors has a surefire leader to build around.

I’ve watched Zmolek develop her game during the last two club campaigns. She’s made tremendous progress with plenty of room to go before hitting her ceiling as a player. That’s exciting considering her advanced game at present. While some student-athletes shy away from hitting opposite pin, Zmolek embraces it. Her skillset works wonderfully at that pin. She’s an explosive athlete with power in her swing and long arms to shine with the block. Agile and athletic, Zmolek could succeed on the outside and also work out in the middle, too. Expect her to step into a primary varsity role with the Trojans’ graduation losses.
