About Sydney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have a drive to win, but my coach’s would say that I am also a really big cheerleader and carry the energy of the team!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very loud person on and off of the court. I have a big and outgoing personality when it comes to things I am passionate about.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

-I am President of SGA - A freshman mentor -Two Academic awards - 3 principle honor roll

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a big leader and I love to work with others, I find that I work better with cooperative work and when I can collaborate and mix ideas with others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My first two years of High school volleyball I had a coach who was not very involved in my team. I had never played before and I was trying to learn just the basics but the coach was not very present when it came to games or practices, so my team and I had to come together and work as a team to get through the season and try our best.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with lots to do around it, the surrounding area of the school matters a lot to me. I also want a school where I can major in Interior Design, not many schools have that major and it plays a huge part in choosing a school. Volleyball is just a plus, if the college has the major I intend on majoring in and a reasonable volleyball program than that is fantastic.

Sydney debuted at number 159 in our rankings. She earned a top performer award at our most recent Prep Dig showcases. At 6’2″ she stands out for her height, but she also brings an infectious enthusiasm to the court. Her ability to also hit the quick tempo sets well in the drills made her stand out. When blocking her hands get high above the net. Still a tint of rawness in her game that more experience should iron out.

Next on the agenda is watching her play in a competitive game. She played one year down for an American 16U team.
