About Sydney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

When playing, I am completely focused on the game. Since I often play as setter, it is critical that I anticipate needs, watch the whole court, and pivot. These skills help make me a better player when I am hitting or playing defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an extremely focused yet coachable player. I believe firmly in a work hard-play hard philosophy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of volleyball, I participate in the visual arts and have received multiple Scholastic Art Awards for my work. Additionally, I volunteer coach at No Ridgeville Middle School, have volunteered as an assistant coach for an American JO team, ref for sand volleyball, work at the local retirement community, and participate in multiple school clubs.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been very involved in several organizations in and out of school, holding various positions of leadership including for the school volleyball program, Varsity R, at my job at the retirement community, at my summer job reffing sand volleyball and, most recently, became a certified official woth OVR.
